United We Ride National Dialogue

February 2010 - The Coordinating Council on Access and Mobility (CCAM) asked the National Academy of Public Administration and Easter Seals Project ACTION to develop and host the first United We Ride (UWR) National Dialogue. The goal of the Dialogue was to help shape future policy direction and provide input to the next CCAM strategic plan.

The National Dialogue on the Quadrennial Homeland Security Review

April 2010 - Six years after its creation, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) undertook the first Quadrennial Homeland Security Review (QHSR) to inform the design and implementation of actions to ensure the safety of the United States and its citizens. This review, mandated by the Implementing the 9/11 Commission Recommendations Act of 2007, represents the first “comprehensive examination of the homeland security strategy of the nation.

An Independent Review of the National Park Service’s Natural Resource Stewardship and Science Directorate

June 2010 - The National Park Service's (NPS) Natural Resource Stewardship and Science Directorate (NRSS) requested that an independent panel of the National Academy conduct a review of its effectiveness in five core functions, its relationships with key internal stakeholders, and its performance measurement system. Among other things, the NPS' NRSS is responsible for providing usable natural and social science information throughout the NPS.

A Worker Dialogue: Improving Health Safety and Security at DOE

November 2010 - The Department of Energy Office of Health, Safety, and Security (HSS) partnered with the National Academy of Public Administration to host an online dialogue to solicit ideas from front line union workers at DOE sites on how to improve worker safety across the DOE complex.

External Review of the World Bank Stolen Asset Recovery Initiative

December 2010 - The goal of this external review of the Stolen Asset Recovery Initiative (StAR) program is to inform the decisions of World Bank Group (WBG) and United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) management regarding its continuation, strategic direction and implementation arrangements.
