Director of Fellow Relations
Lisa Trahan, Director of Fellow Relations, serves as the President’s point of contact to the Academy’s nearly 800 Fellows, the nation’s leading public administrators, managers and scholars. She provides strategic and tactical support to the 18-member Board of Directors. During her eight year tenure at the Academy, Lisa also worked at the Academy’s Center for Improving Government Performance, where her responsibilities included the planning and management of monthly forums, quarterly workshops and an annual conference with over 600 attendees. For over 20 years Lisa served as a volunteer in ten communities overseas and across the United States. As an “Army Wife” she coordinated fund raising and social events, contributed and edited the monthly newsletter, served as a senior member of the Community Affairs Council and served as a liaison for host nation activities in the capacity of a Family Support Group Leader. She was responsible for the distribution of annual funds and chaired Scholarship, Special Events and Fund Raising committees in various board positions. Lisa received numerous professional awards from the Department of Defense including the FORSCOM Commander’s Award for Exceptional Meritorious Service and three Commander’s Award for Outstanding Community Service. Originally a High School teacher, Lisa taught in four school systems both abroad and in the United States. Lisa was an Off-Site University Administrator for Louisiana State University. For two years she held the position of Personnel and Assistant Administrative Officer at the American Embassy in Sanaa, Yemen. Lisa has a Masters of Arts in International Relations from Louisiana State University and a BA from Springfield College.
