Catherine Bertini Fund Grants Put Girls on the Road to Success

After 10 years leading the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), Academy Fellow Catherine Bertini decided to tackle a major root cause for food insecurity—lack of education.

She launched the Catherine Bertini Trust Fund for Girls Education from the funds of her 2003 World Food Prize. Believing that enhancing women’s education had the potential to transform societies, Bertini established the fund to improve girls’ access to education worldwide. Click here to read more.
