Dan Tangherlini

A long-time civil servant, Mr. Tangherlini worked his way from a city financial officer to the Administrator of the General Services Administration. Now a private citizen, he continues to work for the people by bringing government documentation into the 21st century.

Starting his career at the Office of Management and Budget, he transitioned to the Department of Transportation in the latter half of the 1990s, where he helped form policy aimed at improving the way the Department looked at infrastructure finance. Not long after, Mr. Tangherlini served at the Chief Financial Officer of the District of Columbia’s Metropolitan Police Department. His hard work earned him the nomination to reorganize the city’s transportation function as the first Director of Transportation, a position he held for nearly six years. His next long-term position was the City Administrator, where he operated as the Chief Operating Officer for the city for three years.

He began work in the Department of the Treasury in 2009, where he was the Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Management, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Performance Officer. In this position, he presided over Departmental headquarters operations and the finances and administrative services of the Department. After a resignation of the previous Administrator of the GSA, Mr. Tangherlini was named the Acting Administrator, where he was nominated not long after by President Obama to remain in the position.

He stepped down as Administrator in 2015 to work at a private equity firm until he became the president of SeamlessDocs Federal and General Manager of SeamlessDocs, an organization dedicated to improving the efficiency of all levels of government by converting their documents to fillable, smart, and secure online versions, making government transactions much easier for all sides.
