Africa Working Group

Panel Chair: Sy Murray

The Africa Working Group (AWG) is a sub-committee of the International Standing Panel at the National Academy of Public Administration in Washington, DC. Established in 2001, the AWG’s mission is to enhance public administration and governance in Africa.

The Academy collaborates with partners to prepare proposals for joint projects, forums, and conferences that focus on areas, such as organizational development, human resources management, performance-based management and performance measures, strategic planning, governance systems and effective executive briefings. These activities are meant to train African public administrators and provide resources for strengthening governance.

From time to time, the Panel members invite non-Fellows to join as associate members. These individuals are invited to provide specific expertise to the Panel.
