Dugan Petty profile headshot
I am a collaborative leader and mentor who believes modern and accountable government service is essential to the public trust. Government organizations face unprecedented challenges that are accelerating through all sectors of government. Our federal model strains under the pace and complexity of a wide range of issues facing all levels of government. Cross jurisdictional challenges require collaborative solutions. Many organizations (especially smaller jurisdictions) lack the resources, organization, and body of knowledge to address all the challenges they face. Better solutions are possible when organizations collaborate, incubate, and test new concepts, and share more effective methods. But it is too much to expect over heated and under resourced government agencies that have endured years if not decades of budget reductions to boot strap themselves to new and modern service delivery on their own. While many national and local organizations provide support, identify best practices and work with their members to develop improved practices, more challenges than solutions still remain. People in government can use a helping hand to make the transitions their government seek, and NAPA is positioned to help. I want to make a difference by helping people in government find and develop new innovative approaches, secure technologies, responsive organizational structures, and solutions to meet the challenges they face now and into the future.
