We work with federal agencies to deliver data-driven, independent analysis and action-oriented recommendations to guide organizational performance improvement. Our work includes frameworks and methodologies that guide agency initiatives in focal areas of expertise that include: planning for the future, working in the intersection of science and governance, reinforcing effective oversight, improving performance with diversity, equity, and inclusion, and supporting the mission and serving the internal customer. Through comprehensive research, best practice guidance, and collaborative engagement, our studies impact the federal landscape and drive transformational change.
The Academy provides intergovernmental solutions and expertise to promote effective governance and collaboration among federal, state and local governments.
The Academy produces a wide range of content relevant to higher education. Browse through our virtual library to find resources for teaching.
The Academy works with a number of non-governmental nonprofit organizations. Whether it’s partnering on the annual Social Equity Leadership, partnering to conduct a study, or sharing best practices and expert insights, the Academy would love to connect.
All of our events are open to the public. Join us at an upcoming Standing Panel meeting, browse through our awards programs and connect with us through internships and careers.
The Academy’s most distinctive feature is its membership of over 1,000 Fellow. These Fellows are public managers and scholars, business executives and labor leaders, current and former cabinet officers, members of Congress, governors, mayors, state legislators, and diplomats. Individually, Fellows provide unparalleled insight and experience. Collectively, they are the Academy’s primary vehicle for addressing current and emerging issues and contributing to the intellectual and popular discourse on government.
