Project Director / Director, Center for Intergovernmental Partnership
Intern
Sierra is a Master’s in Public Policy student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she recently graduated with a B.A. in Political Science.
While a summer intern at the Center, Sierra worked on a 50-state inventory of vote-by-mail processes, specifically looking at their equity and efficient access to citizens.
Sierra is expanding her work on this research by examining what vote-by-mail policies must undergo for specific states to change them. In the spring, she will support research into homelessness and criminal justice. In the future, Sierra hopes to continue working in policy for or with all levels of government.
When she is not busy with her internship or studies, Sierra also likes to hike, swim, and ski.
Intern
Kaitlyn is a graduate student working towards her Master’s in Public Administration at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. She previously received her B.S. in Biology at East Carolina University.
As an intern at the Center, Kaitlyn has been working with the team assisting the EPA to develop an assessment of its implementation in Indian Country. She is specifically looking at how the EPA assesses their direct implementation of the Clean Water Act in States and Territories and how Tribal Lands can utilize it. In the future, Kaitlyn hopes to continue to work in program evaluation, organizational assessments, and policy, focusing on environmental issues and social equity. Kaitlyn also enjoys hiking, snowboarding, and camping in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
