Over the course of the Summer and Fall of 2012, the National Academy of Public Administration joined with the American Society for Public Administration to launch the "Memos to National Leaders" series.

This project, and website, is based on a series of memoranda created by NAPA and ASPA experts to inform national leaders about the policy and management challenges facing the nation. Some of these challenges include fixing the Federal Budget and it's impending Fiscal Cliff, Managing Big Initiatives like creating the interstate highway system, and the Next Steps in Improving Performance. While these efforts will culminate in a Capstone Event in early 2013, the Public Manager featured the Memos Project in their Winter 2012 issue, published on December 15.
