Maintaining a healthy and functional democracy hinges on citizens having sufficient political knowledge to effectively navigate societal challenges, recognize misinformation, engage meaningfully in governance, and hold public officials accountable. However, in an era marked by extreme political division, citizens encounter various challenges that adversely affect their psychological well-being while striving for political engagement.

The Standing Panel on Social Equity in Governance invites you to join them to explore the critical role of political knowledge in fostering civic engagement and enhancing the health of our democracy. The researchers have identified emotional triggers stemming from political polarization and have proposed a best practice approach to address these triggers, aiming to alleviate political stress.
