Gillian Townsend

Ms. Gillian Townsend joined the Academy in November 2019 as a Research Associate on the Funded Studies Team. She served on several Academy studies, including work with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the National Park Service, and various federal Office of Inspectors General. She has experience in assisting agencies with organizational assessments, programmatic evaluations, and strategic plan development.

In August 2022, Ms. Townsend joined the Academy's Business Development and Philanthropy Team. She currently assists with Academy business development efforts and philanthropic initiatives, including proposal development and strategic messaging.

Before joining the Academy, Ms. Townsend had various internships and volunteered with several organizations focusing on community engagement. She graduated from the College of William & Mary with a BA in Government and History.
