Gillian Townsend

Gillian Townsend joined the Academy in November 2019 as a Research Associate on the Government Research and Solutions Team. She served on several Academy studies, including work with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the National Park Service, and various federal Office of Inspectors General. She has experience in assisting agencies with organizational assessments, programmatic evaluations, and strategic plan development.

In August 2022, Gillian joined the Academy's Business Development and Philanthropy Team. She leads business development and philanthropy efforts, scoping new projects, writing proposals, and cultivating relationships with partners, clients, and funders to advance the Academy's mission. She also helps lead major initiatives across the organization, including the Academy's Celebration of the American Public Servant.

Gillian holds a BA in Government and History from the College of William & Mary.
