Washington, D.C. – The National Academy of Public Administration has released “Bringing AI to Main Street: Maximizing Artificial Intelligence’s Positive Impact on Municipal Economies,” a study commissioned by Google to help guide local and regional adoption of AI tools that are actively shaping the economy.
The detailed report provides important frameworks to help local business and government leaders understand how to best prepare their communities with readiness strategies and benchmarking.
They include:
“AI is already changing the global economy in so many ways. Locally, business and government leaders should be proactive in their efforts to forge partnerships and facilitate dynamic growth with responsible and safe policies that reflect the needs of their communities,” said James-Christian Blockwood, President & CEO of the National Academy of Public Administration. “AI represents a new technological revolution, and with the findings and guidance in this report, everyone can be a part of the future we’re creating today.”
The report includes more than a dozen case examples in communities from Miami to Honolulu that demonstrate how quickly AI is impacting local and regional economies.
The findings of this study will be featured in a panel discussion at Google DC, Tuesday Sept. 16, featuring Sen. Mike Rounds, co-chair of the Senate AI Caucus, Gail Roper, CIO, Montgomery Co. MD, and Brenna Isman, Director of Academy Studies, National Academy of Public Administration.
