Description: Join our national dialogue on diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) at the National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA). The Standing Panel on Public Service and The Standing Panel on Social Equity in Governance have invited subject matter experts and academic scholars to advise us on developing a DEIA maturity model for federal agencies. In this meeting, our speakers will address best practices and offer guidance on breakthrough approaches to embrace and promote diversity to amplify mission success. We invite you to join us to explore dimensions of "diversity," "equity," “inclusion," and "accessibility," particularly as we work together to develop a sustainable DEIA Maturity Model that ensures government works and works for all.

There will be multiple parts to this discussion. The first part will involve panelists and NAPA Fellows, John Salamone and Naomi Barry-Perez, discussing diversity best practices and breakthrough approaches that support Behaviors and Organizational Structures in the development of a Diversity Maturity Model. This part will be moderated by Kimberly Walton, Vice Chair of the Standing Panel on Public Service.

In the second part of this discussion, panelists Elsie L. Harper-Anderson, Ph.D., Michael Massiah, and Janice Underwood, Ph.D. will discuss groundbreaking research and future directions to guide the diversity maturity process. This panel will be moderated by Dr. Jade Berry James, Vice Chair of the Standing Panel on Social Equity in Governance.
