David N. Ammons is Albert Coates Professor Emeritus of Public Administration and Government at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He served on the National Performance Management Advisory Commission and currently serves on the International City/County Management Association's Credentialing Advisory Board and the North Carolina Governor’s Advisory Committee on Performance Management. His books on local government management include Tools for Decision Making, with Dale J. Roenigk (Routledge, 2022); Performance Measurement for Managing Local Government (Melvin & Leigh, 2020); Municipal Benchmarks (M.E. Sharpe/Routledge, 2012); and Leading Performance Management in Local Government (ICMA, 2008).
