Dr. Condrey is President of Condrey and Associates, Inc., a human resources consulting firm specializing in compensation systems for state and local governments. In his forty years of experience, Steve has consulted with over 800 organizations nationally and internationally. Steve was appointed Chair of the Federal Salary Council by President Biden in 2022. He also served in this same role for President Obama from 2010 to 2017. He has authored or co-authored numerous scholarly articles and is the editor of the Handbook of Human Resource Management in Government (3rd edition) as well as the co-editor of Public Administration in Post-Communist Countries. He has degrees from the University of Montevallo (BS), the University of Tennessee (MPA), and the University of Georgia (PhD). After losing his sight in 2015, he received Assistive Technology training from the Birmingham Regional Center of the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind. Steve served as President of the American Society for Public Administration (2013-2014).
