William C. Greenwalt has longstanding experience in federal acquisition and industrial base issues. He currently sits on several corporate boards and is a nonresident senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute where he focuses on defense management and innovation. He is also a founder of the Silicon Valley Defense Group. Dr. Greenwalt served in senior positions at the Department of Defense, in Congress, and in the private sector. He began his career at the U.S. General Accounting Office and then in Congress served as a senior staff member for the Senate Armed Service Committee, the Senate Governmental Affairs Committee, and the House Appropriations Committee. As deputy under secretary of defense for industrial policy, he advised the under secretary of defense for acquisition, technology, and logistics on matters relating to the defense and commercial industrial bases. In the private sector, Dr. Greenwalt has worked for Lockheed Martin and the Aerospace Industries Association. Bill received a BA in economics and political science from California State University, Long Beach, an MA in international relations and defense and security studies from the University of Southern California, and a PhD in public policy from the University of Maryland.
