Vikki Wachino is principal of Viaduct Consulting, LLC. Wachino has worked for more than 25 years to advance stronger health care policy for low-income people in the United States. As deputy administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services from 2015 to 2017, she oversaw all policy and operations for the Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Programs and led implementation of major provisions of the Affordable Care Act, and her work there helped achieve the lowest rates of uninsurance in the nation’s history. Her current work focuses on public health, behavioral health, and the criminal justice system.
