Over the course of my career, my passion has been helping public officials and staff promote public confidence and trust in public agencies.
I am very proud of my tenure as chief executive for the Institute for Local Government (www.ca-ilg.org) and the work my team and I did relating to public service ethics, public engagement, sustainability and helping those new to public service, the media and the public understand how local government works in California.
My perspective on public service has also been enhanced by my time as chief legal advisor and in other roles with the League of California Cities.
More recently, I was fortunate to achieve a longstanding goal of teaching at the graduate school level as an adjunct professor. My courses included public service ethics, nonprofit law, strategic governance, public finance, and public policy analysis.
Most recently, I have been focused on writing and consulting on public and nonprofit ethics.
